Starkey - Recoil
Bass to blow your goddam face off. Shut up and sit down dammit.

One Room - I Want You
Lovely slice of dark and ethereal soulful rnb from One Room. There’s been a lot of hype and little information about One Room, but you can check out his SoundCloud presence here.

Sorrow - Art Is Dead
Laid back hip-hop instrumental beats from Sorrow on Art Is Dead. Have to say, I’m rather in love with this track. Check out (and purchase) the full EP on BandCamp here.

813 - Monogamous
A bit more 80s inspired maximalism from 813 here, with Monogamous. Soulful vocals cut up and laid under the insistent drum machine beat, this is music to get you going.

Ambassadeurs - My World
Who likes their hip-hop beats cut up, dissected and complex? Oh, you? Excellent, I believe that I may have just the thing in mind…

CHLLNGR - Well, Good (Olga Bell Remix)
Brilliant remix by Olga Bell (known as part of the Dirty Projectors). I’ve been listening to this constantly since I found it on SoundCloud (that was only a few hours ago to be completely honest). Beautiful clicky beats and mournful cut up, redistributed vocals. More please!

Giraffage - Money
Bangin’ tune from Giraffage here. And am I crazy, or is that a sample of Ralph Tresvant’s ‘Sensitivity’ looped over the back?

813 - Glock Story
I love versatile song making, and this offering from 813 is lovely in how different it is from the last track we posted (which you can find here). This one’s funkier than a chicken. Doing the funky chicken. To George Clinton. After he’s just been for a run. (Because he’d funk, see? Oh dear, that was bad, the heat’s made me slightly delirious).

Jeremiah Jae - Cat Fightttttt Prod. Flying Lotus
Brilliantly atmospheric production from FlyLo, with JJ’s slow smart rhyming over the top. This is my tune - I’ve had it on repeat for the past day and there’s going to be no letting up.

Flying lotus - between friends instrumental/// thundercat version
Reliable as ever, Flylo serves up a snippet of the hot beat that he uses on this track. Shit, this is beautiful instrumental hip-hop, reminiscent of one of my favourite ever producers, Nujabes. That looped sample, the jazzy beats - hip-hop is never going to stop, as long as we have producers of the same mindset banging out tunes like this. Oh, and for anyone who hasn’t check out Thundercat - one of the sickest album’s of last year.

TNGHT (Hudson Mohawke x Lunice) - Higher Ground
Holy crap, after I recovered from the seismic bass that issues from one of the most ridiculous drops that I’ve heard in a while, I had an eargasm. This is too much. Goddam, it’s so freaking GRIMEY. Dirty hip-hop style beats, I need more of, and this has just carved out a fat-assed space in cranium. I might need a change of pants after that.

Elias Tzikas - Oldskool Love Theory
Long as he keeps on making these amazing disco beats, we’re going to keep on posting them. What a tune.

Onra - Somewhere (Deep In The Night)
This guy marries hip-hop beats and an acutely 80s sensibility with such ease, it’s easy to believe this is a Rick James-esque lost track from yesteryear. Slick as all hell. I’m a superfreak baby.

Slugabed - Mountains Come Out Of The Sky (Arp 101 Rework)
People can’t keep away from this track can they? Another remix / remodel for it, this time courtesy of Arp 101. From ethereal wonder to hip-hop, round beat laced electronica. I was in awe of this from the first moment that I heard it. It’s virtually maximalist hip-hop. Insane. Love it.
