Indioo - Happy-Afterhours Mix November 2012
Long time no see. Please enjoy this set I recorded recently exclusively for 2Nerds. 1 hour of soulful and deep grooves to hit pre/after party in company of a fresh gin tonic, even on a Sunday night. Ba-boom.
Monsoon Season feat. Miss Bee - Green On Blue (Arsenii Deep Dub)
Lovely bit of deep disco house on this Arsenii Remix of Monsoon Season’s Green On Blue. Wait for the beat to drop and the bass to go up as this hits a real groove… Check out the wonderfully breathy original here
Dalminjo - Deep Summer Mix
Blissful mix here from Dalminjo, including his awesome remix of ‘If This World Were Mine’, currently riding high as one of my tracks on repeat.
Debonair - Rivage
“It’s been a while since I’ve heard some disco infused house”, you’re saying to yourself, no? Well then, let me oblige you, with the latest track from Debonair. We’re rather enamoured of Debonair’s sound, and we think you will be too. You’ll like this. A lot. Check out Debonair here and get the track from here.
Elias Tzikas - New Project
Another track from blog regular Elias Tzikas here. This with a much deeper / soulful house groove to it than the usual funk infused disco. A real stormer of a tune, this reminds me of the sort of sexy house that Maceo Plex hits with. Seriously, I think I’m fast falling in love with Elias - this is blissful.
Elias Tzikas - Oldskool Love Theory
Long as he keeps on making these amazing disco beats, we’re going to keep on posting them. What a tune.
DD26 - Glow (Late Nite Tuff Guy Edit)
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh, I’M BACK MUTHER FUCKERS. It’s been a neglectful week, I feel like an absent father. That said, I’m allowed, it was the jubilee weekend and my birthday. Happy fucking birthday me! I come back bearing gifts though. Funk yourself silly with this. DISCO, DISCO, DISCO, DISCO.
Mtume - Juicy (Rocco Raimundo Remix)
You know very well… Who you are… Don’t let ‘em pull you down… Reach for the stars… You had a goal… but not that many
Excellent take on the awesome Mtume classic, with shades of Biggie’s Juicy thrown in for good measure.
Soul Clap - Let It Go (Miguel Campbell’s Club Mix)
Funky funky funky. Boston duo Soul Clap, this is taken from their debut album ‘EFUNK’. It reminds me a lot of Chromeo, one of my favorite electro bands. Retro disco and house for the incoming weekend.
JJ - The Darkness (Elias Tzikas Reconstruction Mix)
My blog buddy reckons I should have been born in the 70s. Disco makes me happy. New track up from Elias Tzikas (one of this blog’s faves, and introduced to me by my fellow nerd). He’s just excellent.
Rocco Raimundo - Hangin On
Superb summer (are you catching onto the recent theme) disco track from Rocco Raimundo here. Cool, laid back, and 80s funked up.
Elias Tzikas - Higher
This track brings back memories of Crystal Waters, Gypsy Woman (a fantastic track). Slowly beginning to fall in love with Elias and his disco crazy tunes. This one’s got an evocative groove to it that I just can’t deny.
Donna Summer - I Feel Love (Danny Howells Re-Edit)
One week ago, the undisputed queen of seventies-disco left us. Behind her, a good legacy of eternal disco anthems to listen and dance forever. Her classic ‘I Feel Love’ (1977) was re-edited in 2003 by Danny Howells. Doesn’t lose the essence of the original and just keeps you dancing and dancing for almost 12 minutes. Just for the record, last Friday I saw him live at Ministry of Sound in London and played this masterpiece at the end of his set. Craziness on the dancefloor. RIP Donna :(
Hypnolove - Midnight Cruising (Mickey Moonlight Dub)
This song’s been going round and round in my head the past few days, the only way to get it out is to post it. Any disco track that plays out with harp and cow bell though, has to be something special. Download a copy here.
Elias Tzikas - May 2012 Promomix
Was introduced to Elias by my blog buddy. This is a man who loves disco. Making it and spinning it. If you love a bit of disco (which, man I do), then you’ll love this - this is a summer mix for the masses. Even better, you can not just listen to it on the blog, you can download it here. Boom! Don’t say we never give you anything. Actually, technically we didn’t, he did. Okay, you can say we never give you anything.
