Detz - May
Atmospheric, bass laden, beats your thing? Monthly themed percussion? Arpeggiated keys and choral samples? With garage sensibilities? I know, I don’t get how it’s possible either, but apparently it is. Download this beautiful track here. And check out more of Detz’ awesome here.

Slugabed - Mountains Come Out of The Sky (Lapalux Saturation Remix)
Being a big fan of both Slugabed and Lapalux, it was always a fairly good bet this was going to be a bit pretty good. Doing something very different than the original, this has a dreamy quality about it. The hard bouncing bass has been stripped out and changed to a more skittery percussion and it’s been (made-up word) etherealised with rolling echoes and soft, repeated sample vocals. A beautiful piece of work. Download a copy here and check out a sample of the original here if you’ve not heard it before.

FREnchfire - EVERyGURL
For some insane reason, I decide to sign up for a triathlon - now the time of reckoning is here and I’ve nothing. Cue frantic night of 1) attempting to learn to swim (oh dear) and 2) buying lycra online for next day delivery. But I refuse to let the night pass without getting this track on here first. Blind panic aside, this track is the tits. Melancholy vocals, staccato percussion and a strange haunting melody that sticks with you. BOOM, FREnchfire done did it again. Make sure to smash out a copy from here. Now I’m off to find a compression suit. Gaaaargh.
